Counting the sleeps until Christmas
every day feels like a year!
Mums buying turkey and custard and ham
Dads buying whiskey and beer.

All of the lights are so pretty
and I’d sing at the top of my voice,
And though I was small – I still can recall
The most wonderful Christmas of all

Through the eyes of a child
Through the eyes of a child
Through the eyes of a child
Through the eyes …

Listening for footsteps forever
then finally falling asleep.
Up with the sun to look for my name
on the presents there under the tree.

Fight for the last piece of stuffing,
the sixpence is under my pudding.
And when family and friends are together again
I hope I will always see Christmas

Through the eyes of a child
Through the eyes – through the eyes
Through the eyes of a child…

Christmas – Through the Eyes of a Child
